“What the JGA has meant to me”
One of my proudest moments came in 2022 when I won my first tournament. It was the Boys B Championship and I was in 5 strokes back of the lead after the first day. That win especially being able to come back from a bad first day was a turning point for me. It gave me the confidence and motivation to work even harder and see how far I could go in this sport. Since then, I’ve been fully committed to becoming the best golfer I can be and I’m proud to say that because of JGA I’ll be able to continue playing golf at the collegiate level.
Over the past five years, the JGA has come to mean far more to me than just playing golf every Monday. While I’ve always loved the competitive nature of golf, JGA gave me a place where I could truly grow as a player, and do it alongside some of my closest friends. The friendships and memories I’ve made throughout the years are just as valuable to me as the game itself.
JGA has had a huge impact on my golf journey in many ways. Whether it was learning to compete against skilled players or simply getting comfortable with the pressure of tournament play, the experiences I’ve had have pushed me to improve and evolve. Every round helped me understand my game better and develop the mental toughness needed to compete at a higher level.
More than anything, though, JGA has reminded me why I love this game in the first place. It’s easy to get caught up in the grind of competition, but JGA has always brought me back to the simple joy of playing golf for fun. Some of my happiest golf memories have happened here, and for that, I’m incredibly grateful.
As I look forward to playing college golf, I can honestly say that JGA has prepared me both as a player and as a person. I’ll always carry the lessons, friendships, and moments I’ve gained from this amazing experience.
Andrew
