Leagues

Players will be assigned to either the Players League or the Champions League based on their golfing ability. Each league is divided into divisions designed to give golfers the opportunity to compete against others with a similar level of skill. Players earn their way up our divisions by meeting our advancing criteria.  In some weeks, tournaments may be played at two different courses to accommodate all divisions. When this occurs, divisions will be assigned to a specific course for that week’s event. Look out for the location email each week.

The Players League

The Players League is designed for junior golfers who are new to the game or those looking to develop and increase their skills. This league provides a supportive and encouraging environment where players can gain on-course experience, build confidence, and continue learning the fundamentals of golf.

To ensure a positive and enjoyable experience for all participants, the Players League is organized into divisions based on skill level. Each division plays a course length that is appropriate for their stage of development, with players competing in 3-hole, 5-hole, or 9-hole formats.

This structure allows junior golfers to progress at a comfortable pace while still experiencing the excitement of tournament play. Players will have the opportunity to develop course management skills, learn proper golf etiquette, and compete alongside others who are at a similar level in their golfing journey.

Players in this league compete in 18-hole events and typically have significant competitive experience, with many participants also playing for their middle school or high school golf teams. Throughout the season, players will experience a variety of competitive formats designed to challenge their skills and broaden their tournament experience. Formats may include individual stroke play, two-person team competitions, four-person mixed teams, match play, and alternate shot.

The Champions League features one Boys Division and one Girls Division and is intended for advanced junior golfers who demonstrate strong playing ability and a solid understanding of competitive golf.

Eligible players include those who have successfully graduated from the Players League, as well as new JGA participants who bring exceptional tournament experience—typically golfers who regularly shoot scores under 80 and possess a comprehensive understanding of the Rules of Golf.
