Team Crowe just survived 6 days of marathon golf, playing a combined total is 17 rounds! Oscar and Henry played in the FSGA Junior Amateur Match Play Championship at Streamsong Resort on July 22 – 25. The tournament began with a two day stroke play tournament where the field was cut down to the low 32 players in Oscar’s division and the low 16 players in Henry’s division.
Oscar completed the stroke play tournament 5 th posting scores of 74 and 66 which qualified him to move on to the match play tournament.
Henry decided to keep it exciting by needing to make a critical 3 foot putt the final day on 18 to make the cut and secure the last spot to qualify for the match play.
Over the next two days the boys played two match play rounds a day. Henry caused the tournament upset as the 16th seed, he defeated the number one seed in the first match! From there, he was in full focus mode and won his quarterfinal and semifinal match to secure a place in the finals!
At the same time, Oscar was working his way up his bracket into the finals against the number one player in his division!
Both boys had very close final matches keeping many friends and family on the edge watching the live scoring. But they both closed out their matches to become the Florida Junior Match Play Champions for both the boys 16-18 division and the 13-15 division!
So excited for Oscar and Henry!
