Revised March 2023
Division Placement:
RETURNING PLAYERS: Players returning for the upcoming season will begin play in the same division in which they finished playing in the previous season, except for players who earned their way up in division based on their finish in the JGA Championship at the end of the previous season.
Any player eligible to move up after the last regular season tournament prior to the JGA Championship will have the option of remaining in their current division or moving up to the next division for the JGA Championship. If the player opts to stay in their current division for the JGA Championship, they will automatically move up to the next division at the beginning of the following season, regardless of their finish in the JGA Championship.
NEW PLAYERS: The Board of Directors will evaluate new members applications and assign new members to a division. The highest division to which a new member will be assigned is the (Boys/Girls) Junior division. Advancement to (Boys/Girls) Championship will be based on meeting the (Boys/Girls) eligibility requirements for advancement. New members’ play will be monitored and any decision to adjust a player’s division will be at the discretion of the Executive Director.
DECIDING A TIE: A playoff between players tied for 1st place will be conducted to determine the 1st place winner. Ties for the 2nd or 3rd place trophy will be decided by a match of cards beginning with the last hole the division played, going back until a winner is determined.
RULES FOR ADVANCEMENT: Players must meet the criteria below to advance to the next division. Because all players must remain competitive in their division, the Board of Directors reserves the right to reassign players to a division in which they will be competitive.
